Materials Suitable for Flame Cutting

Carbon and low-alloy structural steels: Q235/Q345 (Grades 250/350 equivalent), and common heavy plate grades used in Australian structural work. Flame cutting is not for stainless steel or aluminum - for those, or for precision profiles under 25mm, use our laser cutting service instead.

Bevel Cutting: The Difference Between Fit-Up and Field Rework

A correct bevel angle and root face are what allow a full-penetration weld to be laid in one pass with consistent throat thickness. We cut bevels to your weld procedure - V, double-V, or K-prep - and verify the angle on first article. When the same shop cuts and welds your heavy plate, there is no hand-off gap: the bevel spec is agreed with our own welding engineers before the plate is ever touched.
