Brief Description

Factory-fabricated hot-dip galvanized I-beam with precision CNC-drilled bolted end plate (10 holes, 2×5 pattern) for rapid modular steel frame assembly. Complete HDG coating to ISO 1461 ensures 50+ years of corrosion protection with zero maintenance.

Detailed Description

This galvanized I-beam with integrated bolted end plate is designed for modular steel frame systems - portal frames, prefabricated warehouses, canopies, and light industrial buildings where fast on-site bolted assembly is critical. The beam is fabricated from Q235B, Q355B, S275JR, or S355JR hot-rolled I-sections, with a laser-cut end plate (10-40mm thick) full-penetration welded to both flanges and fillet welded to the web. The 10 bolt holes (2 vertical rows of 5) are CNC-drilled to ±0.5mm tolerance after plate cutting, ensuring guaranteed bolt alignment with the mating column or beam connection. Slotted holes for erection clearance are available on request. After fabrication, the complete beam undergoes hot-dip galvanizing in our in-house 7m bath to ISO 1461 / ASTM A123 standards (70-100μm average coating thickness). The resulting metallurgical zinc-iron bond provides complete coverage of all surfaces - inside bolt holes, flange-web corners, and weld zones - for maintenance-free corrosion protection in C3-C4 environments. A duplex system (HDG + epoxy topcoat) is offered for aggressive C5 marine/industrial settings. Each beam is hard-stamped with heat number and includes a QR-linked inspection package: mill certificates, weld reports, HDG coating measurements, and dimensional conformance records.

Product Selling Points

Superior corrosion resistance: Hot-dip galvanizing (85μm) provides 50+ years of protection in C3 environments without maintenance - ideal for outdoor and coastal installations

Zero site drilling: All end plate holes are CNC machined to ±0.5mm, eliminating costly on-site hole reaming and rework

Modular construction ready: Bolted end plates enable rapid site assembly (no site welding) - typical frame erection 3x faster than welded connections

Full traceability: Each beam is hard-stamped with heat number and coated with a QR label linking to full inspection documentation

Competitive TCO: Galvanized beams eliminate future painting costs and downtime for maintenance, reducing lifecycle costs by up to 40% vs painted alternatives

Company Advantages

Integrated galvanizing: Our own HDG bath line (7m × 1.5m × 1.2m) ensures consistent coating with zero outsourcing delays

Precision end-plate fabrication: All holes CNC-drilled after plate cutting - guaranteed bolt alignment on site with zero rework

Engineering support: We check bolt group capacity (shear + tension + prying) and provide connection calculations free of charge

Fast turnaround: Standard beams ship in 10-15 working days; express production in 7 days for urgent orders

Global shipping experience: Packaged with steel cradles and VCI wrap for ocean transport; containers and flat-rack both supported

Quality tracking: Every beam is tagged with a unique ID linking to mill certificates, weld reports, and HDG inspection records

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: How thick is the galvanized coating, and can you increase it?

A: Standard HDG coating is 70-100μm (450-600 g/m2) per ISO 1461. For aggressive marine/industrial environments (C4-C5), we can apply a duplex system: HDG base + epoxy topcoat (80-120μm) for extended service life.

Q2: What if the bolt holes don't match on site?

A: Our CNC drilling tolerance is ±0.5mm, and we use match-drilling for paired connection plates. In 15+ years we have never had a reported hole misalignment requiring field rework. We also provide a 1:1 drilling template on request for on-site verification.

Q3: Can you do slotted holes instead of round holes?

A: Yes. We can provide horizontal or vertical slotted holes for erection clearance per your connection design. Just specify the slot direction and dimension on the shop drawing.

Q4: How do you prevent the end plate from warping during galvanizing?

A: We design vent/drain holes in the end plate for zinc flow and control immersion speed and temperature. Our 7m bath allows complete single-dip immersion, minimizing thermal distortion. Post-galvanizing, each end plate flatness is checked with a straight edge (≤2mm deviation).
